Located on Lac Ste. Anne, approximately 60 km (37 mi.) from Edmonton. In 1925, Alberta Beach was originally developed as a railway community. It was incorporated as a summer village growing into a popular beach resort.
Famous for its shallow water and sandy beach, recreational options for all ages are plentiful. Summer water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, water skiing, and fishing make this a haven for the sports minded. A variety of watercrafts are available for rental at the main beach area. Winter sports offer ice-fishing, snowmobiling, skating, and cross-country skiing.
Near Lac Ste Anne Roman is a Roman Catholic Mission established by the renowned Father Lacombe. The site of the Mission is considered to be sacred ground where bathing in the waters of Lac Ste. Anne may heal the sick and infirm. Each July thousands of pilgrims travel to participate in the week-long religious services.
Alberta Beach accommodation range from cabins, cottages, bed and breakfasts, and camping and RV grounds.
