Around 265 km (164.7 mi.) northwest of Edmonton on Highway 43 is the small town of Fox Creek. Fairly young, it was founded on July 19, 1967 as the New Town of Fox Creek, and then became the Town of Fox Creek in 1983. Oil and gas, and secondly forestry, define the economy of the region. The town's oilfield services industry includes branch offices of many of the large drilling and well service companies.
Nearby lakes, streams and forests offer visitors an outdoors experience in the northern countryside. Residents and visitors alike can participate in camping, fishing and hunting. Campgrounds can be found at either Iosegun Lake or Smoke Lake, as well as an RV Park near town. In winter, snowmobilers can experience the Golden Triangle's trails which connect Fox Creek, Swan Hills and Whitecourt.
Enjoy indoor hospitality at your choice of Fox Creek's hotels and RV/campgrounds.
