Manning Alberta is located 73 km (45 mi.) north of Peace River on Highway 35 on the Notikewin River. Manning was named after a former Premier of Alberta, Ernest Manning. Manning supports the agricultural, forestry, gas and oil industries.

Hunters and fishers enjoy the natural bush lands surrounds Manning. "The Land of the Mighty Moose" is a fair nickname for the area. Other wildlife include deer, elk, moose, ducks and geese.
