Taber Accommodations
Taber Alberta Travel Information
Around 278 km (172.7 mi.) southeast of Calgary, about an hour north of the Montana border, lies the town of Taber. It's home to around 7,670 people. Originally a coal mining town, today Taber is largely an agricultural town. Leading employers in town are several food processing plants including a Roger's Sugar sugar beet processing plant built in 1950, and a Frito Lay plant.
Taber calls itself the Corn Capital of Canada, and is well known for its quality corn. Every August it hosts a "Cornfest" which includes corn tasting and games, a 'Best Corn of the Year' award, a midway and an entertainment stage. A little farther afield, Taber is fairly close to Waterton Lakes National Park which offers great outdoors activities both summer and winter.
Enjoy some sweet southern hospitality at Taber's hotels.
